The first Fish Fry of Lent took place last night in our gymnasium and it was a lot of fun! It was a reminder that there is a spirit in the Saint Andrew community that touches everything we do.
You can feel it not only in our Lenten Fish Frys but when we gather to pray with one another or when we endeavor to serve those in need.
If you missed out last night, don't worry... another Fish Fry is scheduled for March 27 and that community spirit is still hanging around on the corner of Addison and Paulina. It is constantly echoing, "Welcome! You belong!"

Join us for a Lenten Mission on Friday, March 13, 2026 from 6:00pm to 8:30pm led by the Franciscans of the Eucharist. The time will be filled with prayer, adoration, confession and music. Take some time to grow in your relationship with God this Lent with fellow members of your parish!
Last week we heard from Cardinal Cupich at all the Masses about the importance of the Annual Catholic Appeal. Thank you to everyone who has already provided a response with either a donation or a pledge. If you have not already done so, please return your response as soon as possible. The Annual Catholic Appeal offers us an opportunity to join with others and affirm that “together we bring light.” In addition to providing for ministries and services throughout the archdiocese, the Appeal also funds services that are of great help here in our parish.

PRAY -- FAST -- GIVE
Part of our Lenten practice is through prayer, to sacrifice (fast) so that we have more in our abundance to give. Every year, the proceeds from our fasting are collected as a parish on Holy Thursday to give to a specific charity. This year, our Holy Thursday collection will go to the Mission of Our Lady of the Angels in Humboldt Park to be distributed to the material needs of those served by the Franciscans of the Eucharist. Please be mindful throughout Lent to prepare a sacrificial gift for this collection.
