Volunteers Needed - Late Summer/Early Fall (July, August)
We're in need of some help!
Put your talents to use with one or more of the following volunteer opportunities.
Liturgical Ministry - Serve at Mass!
If you attended mass last weekend and heard our Deacons preach, both of the touched on the need for more liturgical ministers at Saint Andrew. Summer months are hard, but to be honest, it has become increasingly difficult to find volunteers at mass throughout the year. If you have been prompted by the Holy Spirit to consider serving at mass, why not follow through on that? We're here to help!
: Greeters, Altar servers, Lectors, Eucharistic Minister, Cantors, Musicians, and Sacristans. There is a place for every one of any age.
: All masses - particularly the 8:00am and 5:30pm Sunday masses
Training can take place individually at any time. Simply email Deacon Eric (
) to express interest.
Digitally Savvy History Buffs Needed
As we near our 125th Anniversary Year, we are in need of tech savvy volunteers to help us digitize
our archives! Help us preserve these photographs for generations to come.
: Comfort with computers and scanners.
: During office hours, M-F 8am-8pm, Sat 9am-4pm, Sun 9am-2pm

Of Special Interest: We also need a volunteer or two who can visit the Archdiocesan Archives, located downtown. We are seeking information about Saint Andrew, including significant pictures, history about our school, and even information on the beautiful stained glass windows in our church!
Friendly Faces - Hospitality Days
Do you like coffee and donuts? Do you like people who like coffee and donuts?
We have a job for you!
As part of our special celebrations this year, we will be hosting Hospitality Weekends at Saint Andrew. Coffee and donuts will be served not only at our 10:00am Family Masses, but also at the 4:00pm vigil and 8:00am Sunday masses once a month! We are in need of adults and families who can make our guests feel welcome.

Religious Education Catechists and Aides
We are beginning our search for Catechists (teachers) and Aides for next year's Religious Education program! If you have found God encouraging you to do more with the parish, this is a great opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our young parishioners. Our family catechesis model combines in-class learning and at-home sessions, so the time commitment is very manageable, and team teaching is encouraged!
Please note that it is standard practice for all volunteers who will have access to and work with children to undergo a background check and safe environment training. The Archdiocese of Chicago and Saint Andrew Parish require all staff and volunteers who work with children be in compliance with these requirements. Summer is a great time to begin your training in preparation for the fall!
