E-Bulletin - March 16, 2020
We hope you are doing well and adjusting to the "new reality" as our city moves through the COVID-19 pandemic. Let us keep each other in prayer during this time and especially those who are in critical condition from the COVID-19 virus.
A reminder that public Masses are cancelled indefinitely and Saint Andrew's campus is closed
. The school, auditorium, gymnasium, and rectory buildings do not have access to the public. For an up-to-date listing of the affects on COVID-19 on Saint Andrew parish, visit our
In light of the measures we are taking, every week we will broadcast to you a short reflection from Saint Andrew's pastoral staff and which will be recorded within the church. We hope this is a way that you can stay connected to Saint Andrew during this difficult time. Click on the video below to watch it.
Below are a couple of key notifications for the week ahead.
Church Will Open For Private Prayer
Please note that even though the Saint Andrew campus is closed, the main church will open for private prayer during the following times.
Sunday from 8am to noon
4pm to 6pm
Mondays through Fridays, 6:00pm to 7:30pm
Saturdays from 3:00pm to 5:00pm
. (This schedule will begin tomorrow, Tuesday, March 17, 2020). Confessions will still be heard on Saturdays at 3:00pm but only face to face confessions that will be held in the parish office allowing for the Sacrament to be done with a distance of 6 feet.
Scripture Reflection for the Week
The Gospel this past Sunday was the story of Jesus meeting the woman at the well. A story about how we all thirst and have longings that remain unfulfilled. We know this especially at this trying time. Deacon Eric offers a reflection onto the deeper meaning of this scripture in our lives today.
You may have heard of our popular faith formation program for adults
"REBOOT: Update Your Spiritual Software."
Saint Andrew Parish normally holds this program throughout the year but during the COVID-19 shutdown, we are offering the chance to do this six-week program via video-conference. We currently expect to offer two groups starting immediately, one on
Thursdays from 10:30am to Noon
and another group on
Sundays from 1:00pm to 2:30pm
. Sign up quickly if you would like to participate!
As a final thought, please note that Saint Andrew Parish depends on the weekly offertory to meet the parish's operating costs. Without the opportunity to hold a collection at Mass this past Sunday and for several Sundays to come, there is significant concern about our ongoing finances.
If you give to our parish electronically, THANK YOU! If not, please drop your donation in the mail to us at Saint Andrew Parish, 3546 N. Paulina, Chicago, IL 60657 or take this opportunity to give electronically either now or on a weekly or monthly basis.
